You will have to download windows installer cleanup utilitiy free from the microsoft link in my previous post but you may not want to use it unless all else fails. Now you seem to have a problem with cr-tools.
It sure sounds like Norton did some bad things to your system. Have you looked for an "undo" option which might reverse the damage Norton seems to have done? Do you use or did you ever use Chrome? If you don't use it, you need to change the system's default browser to whatever browser you do use now. Do you use "NationalAccess - BroadbandAccess" now? Still think, maybe you need to do a System Restore to a point before you installed Norton. Who knows what else Norton did that may come back to bite you when you're not looking.
Great ideas and I will take the advice and go in and do a system restore for the date before the Norton install of Mar 17th. I wonder if I should also uninstall Norton? I will de system restore dated March Cannot connect wireless or with ethernet. When you do a System Restore, Norton and all other software and Microsoft updates you installed after the date used for the Restore will be gone. Personal files will be ok.
