Home depot 37 carpet installation

Good finished product, but total value, not so great. In my experience they have been very good value and I didn't have to buy the premium pad. They allow me to pick the least expensive pad with no problem. I do think they have one of the best values for carpet and I haven't found another company that can compete with their prices.

Jon, I buy all my carpet at lowes. I have in installed by a local guy who charges an avg of. I don't know where you are getting a decent pad for.

I haven't seen those prices around here. The carpet installer must be hungry for work. Willey does similar sales and their prices are inline with Lowes I tried Home depot on my current rehab. I think Carpet Mart may get my business next time. Finding an installer on CL seems a bit risky to me. Many times Stainmaster will run free installations but you have to use premium pad and Stainmaster carpert obviously.

We did our own tear out and hauling. I found Lowes to be too high installing tile. I got it done for half. Curious what price point of house are you installing 80 cent carpet? That is shockingly cheap to me.

Lower than that the carpet just seems crappy. It is a little nicer than the cheap stuff but not too noticeable. Our rentals are in a lower-middle class neighborhood, however we do complete remodels probably way too nice for most any market I have never had a single complaint on the carpet. I just had Lowes do sqft at my office. Jon, I also used Home Depot on a rental and was extremely happy with the service and price.

I agree with a previous post, I feel the contractors are provide the excellent service in fear of loosing their HD and Lowes contracts. Anyway, as others said, no need for premium pad, get the cheapest was 48 cents here.

Just three weeks ago I had another install completed and this time I questioned the installers about this. He didn't even know what they charge for the pad. The installer supplies it, and they get it cheaply. After all, it's just old shredded t-shirts and stuff. Lowe's charges me an arm and a leg for the pad and subsidizes the installation. The installers themselves get a fair fee in the end. I am in the business and I have to laugh when I try to explain it to customers.

They are gimicks and they are designed to do one thing and one thing only Look at the bait and switch adds for these stores Hey honey But when you get to the store What is the labor cost to install carpet? Excluding extra's such as: Tack strips, removing old carpet and padding and disposal. What is the cheapest carpet? Olefin polypropylene is one of the least expensive carpet fiber options. When made into a cut-pile Saxony carpet, it is best suited for low-traffic areas, as it is not very resilient.

However, it is strongest in a looped form, such as in a Berber or in a level loop commercial style. Should you replace carpet before selling house? Most any Realtor will tell you that a home with worn out dirty carpets is hard to sell. If the property is a foreclosure, or priced under market value, it's not as big of an issue. How much does it cost to carpet 3 bedrooms?

Actual estimates vary based on room dimensions. Is it cheaper to carpet or laminate floor? The cost of carpet is generally much cheaper than the cost of laminate flooring, but laminate flooring has the advantage of being longer-lasting, easier to clean, and less likely to suffer weather damage.

What is a good quality carpet? A good all-rounder for family homes, good-quality polyamide or nylon carpets come with built-in stain-resistant treatments and score high marks for wearability. Polyester — Often used for textured or shag carpets. I was lucky to be there and stop him. But he did a fine job afterwards, but then again, anyone could have done this install. It was a simple 10x9 square room, with no furniture at all.

I even left the floor moldings off, waiting for the carpet first. I don't know about other States and the installers Home Depot uses out there. But check out their installers before buying their carpet. People missing at the appointments and telephone calls not answered. After I was finally able to order and pay I never received a delivery and installation date.

I have been on the phone for hours to get an answer. Still nobody knows. Absolutely absurd. The first measurer who came out missed some things that I caught after they emailed a quote to me so they had to send another guy out to remeasure. When they sent me the second quote it had the wrong carpet on it so they had to re-do it again. I wish we would have walked away at that point but everyone makes mistakes so we let them continue.

We were now more than 2 weeks into the process and finally had a valid quote that actually looked pretty attractive considering the "free" installation, "free" furniture moving, among other things stated in the agreement.

When we chose to accept the proposal we were contacting by Kimber who let us know they were 6 weeks out to install, not convenient but understandable.

She was very pushy and informed us that she was only scheduling the installers for one day and that we should have all of the rooms completely cleared for them because they "really aren't furniture movers anyway". We are a hard working couple in our mid-fifties so our backs aren't what they used to be but we wanted to make sure everything was done since we had a houseful of relatives coming the following weekend so we moved every bit of furniture and everything from all of the rooms out onto our 2 decks.

I even pulled up some of the carpet. Seth, the installer was rude from the second I greeted him at the front door. He acted like he had a hot date at or something and all he wanted to do was the bare minimum he had to and get out as fast as possible. He told me he wouldn't have time to do the stairs and they would have to schedule another day to do them. When I called Kimber she said the very soonest they could come back would be July 13th, exactly 4 weeks away! There was no compassion whatsoever and no apologies for the inconvenience.

I said I can't wait that long and will have to hire someone else to do the stairs so I wanted a partial refund for the stairs and for us not getting the free furniture moving as stated in the agreement. She refused. We were already 2 months into this thing and they wanted to now delay another month.

Seth left the carpet and pad with me for the stairs and headed on his way. So to recap: 1 Multiple botched estimates and quotes 2 They did not touch one piece of furniture or other of our possessions, 3 Did not do our steps even though it was in the bid and we moved all of the furniture for them so it could get done in one day 4 Rude installer with absolutely no people skills 5 Left a horrible mess 6 Refused to refund any money even though they did not fill their end of the agreement.

I must say Seth's assistant was fantastic, hard working, pleasant, and friendly. It's too bad he's working with a guy who couldn't care less about pleasing the customer or doing the right thing as agreed. Never again.

I might as well be walking in hard floors. These guys are total idiots. Three messed up measurements.
